Go-Go Dancers

Go-Go dancers are semi clad and go through the motions of erotic dance steps on raised stages or inside cages suspended above the spectators in clubs, bars or discos. To match the clicking fervour and zest of the mood these dancers wear Go-go boots. Breasts are merely covered with tiny strip which is even removed in a hot situation. And lower part there are also minimum exposure that spectator can keep them busy to find out the mystery behind it.

In some Asian countries and especially Thailand there are many such bars. The customers come here for erotic thrills and often hire the dancers for gratification of the flesh. With a go go dancer spectator’s satisfaction is guaranteed. Whether he is in a bar or at a personal place it does not matter. Material pleasure is every where for their art; they applied to satisfy their customers.
The name of Goldie Hawn may be cited as an example of a Go-go dancer who popularised a comic TV serial. Then Timmy Everett (1939-1977), the actor, singer and dancer, who is renowned for his role in “Tommy in the Music Man” tried to bounce back in 1967 by declaring himself to be the Go-go boy - the first one of its kind.

Tracing the beginning of the word Go-go, Oxford English Dictionary says that it is from “go” used as a noun, which refers to the “power of going, energy and vigour”. But another opinion is that the word comes from the name of a particular nightclub in West Hollywood, California - Whisky A Go Go. It was here that for the first time dancers were made to perform on elevated cages. In Paris there was one such disco club bearing the same name. Go-go is said to be a French phrase meaning “in abundance galore”.
