Origin of Disco and Hustle
Can you remember Abraham Lincoln who said “Things may come to those who wait, but only things left by those who hustle.” But thing is different for those who dance disco and hustle. There is only one word - success and success.
365 nights of any mid city night club is on fire with the leg-shake of thousands of youths in disco dance. It’s hot, it’s crazy, it’s sexy whatever you want to say. Disco dance is the movement of the body in a rhythmic way, usually to music and within a given space, for the purpose of expressing an appetite for love and sex, emotion, releasing energy, or simply taking delight in the movement itself. After the first recorded dancing, is among the ancient civilizations appear to have been in place in India around 6000 B.C. Now it is time to disco. Really a disco culture looms large in our society.
It is descended from dances like the Swing, Samba, Cha-Cha, Mambo, Meringue, Fox-Trot and Tango that the majority of Disco dances have evolved. New York during the 70’s saw the birth of The Hustle. However during the decade many changes in form took place. These were the line-dances for groups, solo dances that appeared and disappeared and partnership dances. The latter referred to the Basic Hustle, Latin, Spanish and Tango Hustle. It also included the most popular three counts otherwise known as Swing Hustle that had its origins in California. It was the Street Hustle by skaters in Venice and Malibu which John Travolta in “Saturday Night Fever” made immortal. It became the latest craze for many – especially for the masculine gender. Since the last twenty years the Hustle is being danced to the tune of modern-day pop music. It is fast and silky smooth. The lady spins continuously while her man pulls her to him and then sends her spinning away.
